Modern Design - Oeuf

Hi there! It's Christina again. If you haven't come in the shop lately, you should! We have a lot of new and interesting things about, and even more on the way. If you just happen to walk by, look at the gray crib in the window to the left... that's the Oeuf Sparrow crib. Pretty fantastic, right? Want to know why it's so fantastic? Okay then!

Oeuf means "egg" in French. If you didn't know that before, now you do. Pinch your nose, and say "Uff". No, that was terrible, try again. Okay, there you go. That's how you say it. Oeuf. But what does it mean in Daisy?

Oeuf means modern. It means practicality, simplicity, and beauty. Oeuf's mission statement includes three things: Be good designers, be good people, and be good to the planet. We probably all want to do those last two, but Oeuf succeeds fantastically at the first as well!

Oeuf furniture is not US-made. You may wonder why... because it's made in Latvia, which is covered in forests and no stranger to both conservation and woodworking. Or, in Oeuf's own words, "As a respected member of the European Community, Latvian manufacturers adhere to the standards and enforced regulations relating to labor, safety, quality, and the environment. The partners of Oeuf believe those same standards best reflect their own values of fair work practices and conservation." Mind you, it also might have something to do with the fact that one of the founders is not American! Oeuf was founded by French and American Couple Sophie Demenge and Michael Ryan. Are you seeing a trend here? Parents who realize what they really want for their kids, and start to make it! I am loving this trend. It's fantastic, and we all benefit from it!

Okay, so we've been over who is Oeuf, what do they do... so now, what's so special about them? Their furniture is classic and beautiful - have you ever seen a toddler bed with cleaner lines than the Classic collection toddler bed?

And there we hit on one other thing that's very special about Oeuf - that color. This company knows what's on trend right now - because they are at the forefront of it. (Clean, classic, and still trendy? Sign me up!)

One last thing, which I know you're all wondering... how much does it cost? Oeuf's furniture has a very reasonable price point, wiht almost all of their items coming in under $1000 (yes, even the cribs!)
