One of the things Daisy Baby does best is custom bedding! If you’ve shopped with us, you’ve seen the wall of fabrics of all colors, textures, and patterns. It’s also one of the most fun things to do when setting up your nursery – playing with all the fabrics, picking colors, touching the textures, sorting through the play of patterns. We enjoy it, too!

I’m sure all that is no surprise to you. What may be a surprise is that custom bedding can be affordable! You don’t have to spend $1,000 to get just the right pieces for your room – let us know what your budget is and what pieces you’d like, and we’ll help you work to stay within it. We have created custom three piece bedding sets for under $500!

So, what is a custom three piece bedding set? Your three main pieces in a crib bedding set include the bumper, the sheet, and the skirt or dust ruffle.  We help you ensure that these coordinate with each other, and with the room – whether you want serene, fun, or luxurious. We have many custom bedding companies who help us provide you with exactly what you’re looking for, no matter what that may be! (Of course, pink is easier to find than yellow…) In addition to those three main pieces we can also create custom blankets, pillows, teddy bears… you name it, we can probably help you design it! In addition to crib bedding, we also create custom Moses baskets, bedding for older kids and adults, and even custom gliders, rockers, and all other elements of the nursery (and much of the house!)

A Trip to the Beach

July is prime time for a trip to the beach! Before you had a baby, you could just slip into your bikini, toss some sunscreen and a juicy novel in a bag and head out. It's different with little ones, though! There's so much to think about, even for a day trip. So let's break it down, shall we?

Made in the USA

 

Many customers come to Daisy Baby asking which of our lines are "Made in the USA". While this is a sentiment we appreciate, we want to discuss a little bit what that actually means, so hopefully you can all be smarter consumers, know your options, and make truly informed choices!

While "Made in the USA" sounds pretty simple, it's not. And because of that, you may wish to examine why you want to purchase something made here! Do you want something that's creating jobs for Americans? Do you want something that follows American safety standards? Do you want something that has a "greener" footprint, due to less overall travel?

If you're wanting a line that creates jobs for Americans, perhaps you'll be interested in a smaller furniture company like Relics that still makes all their furniture by hand, or a woman-owned bedding company using local seamstresses, like Bebe Chic! These provide that American authenticity many people appreciate.

If you're looking for something that follows American safety standards - please know that all of our lines do! In fact, all of our imported lines are checked at the borders coming in.

What about a greener line? We have some green American-made lines, but also you may want to consider lines like Oeuf - made in Latvia with responsible environmental stewardship practices.

Are you interested in purchasing from companies that treat their employees responsibly? Our American companies are fantastic, but also consider Stokke - made in Norway (home of the fifty-three week maternity leave policy).
