There's always something new hot in interior decorating, and there's always something new hot in nursery design. One of the really fun things trending right now is an Indian look - it can be fun and bright and cool without being over the top.
Do you like bright colors? Try featuring several bright colors like this bohemian nursery from ProjectNursery.
How about wood furniture? Teak, rosewood, mango wood, and other solid woods are popular in Indian decor. How about this Nassau spindle crib from Relics in a dark wood?
What about animal accessories? Check out our Masala Baby blankets - with elephants, peacocks, and other unique and bright designs! Indian inspired figurines can make a fun statement, too.
And... the final touch - try some ikat patterned fabrics! What's "Ikat", you ask? It's pronounced "ee-kaht" (not eye-cat), and it's a centuries-old weaving technique. The warp threads, weft threads, or both are dyed before weaving (just think of warp and weft ans horizontal and vertical!), then woven together. The sort of "smudged" effect comes from the dye bleeding a bit. It's actually common to many world cultures, but it can definitely add that punch an Indian-inspired room calls for! Like these ikat fabrics from Annette Tatum's Little House line? An Indian (or Moroccan, or bohemian) themed nursery might just be for you!
